Media Release –Immediate Release

Today’s verdict for David Chen, but also for Toronto Chinese community.
Toronto –“David Chen is great injustice to Toronto’s Chinese community and all Toronto and Canadian citizens and peoples of the world,” noted Weizhen Tang. “Imagine, the police and justice officials top witness against a law-abiding, hardworking shop owner, is the very shoplifter, who stole from his shop!
“A shoplifter with 43 convictions –convictions for shoplifting and drug use.” Tang shakes his head, “This is the police and government’s top witness.”
“Mr. David Chen and the Chinese community is being used as scapegoat by some very reckless Toronto police and justice officials,” Tang noted. “Like the case against me for fraud.”
Tang is charged with regulatory and criminal fraud, for raising $65 Million in an acknowleged ponzi scheme. Tang had protested his innocence since the Ontario Securities Commission, OSC, and police charged him in 2009.
“That is why I am here to support Mr. David Chen and his case. Like my case, Mr. Chen’s case is not professional, sincere prosecution. It is persecution, using Mr. Chen and Weizhen Tang as scapegoats for the problems and flaws of the Toronto police and justice systems.” Tang stated before going into the Toronto Old City Hall courthouse this morning, to hear the David Chen verdict. “What is frightening is maybe the involved Toronto police and justice officials picked me and Mr. David Chen, because we are ethnic, newcomers. Thinking maybe, we are weak, and easier to oppress, to use as scapegoats of the system.”
Is Tang just rambling about possible scapegoat persecution and racist motives by some Toronto police and justice officials? Certainly, in the David Chen case, there is a sense that the system is spiralling out of control, the insanity of the system, as Tang noted, “The shoplifter is now key witness against Mr. Chen. The shoplifter is arrested a few days after his testimony…. The police and justice officials knew about these new charges, but they still use this criminal as their key witness! And police and justice officials hid these new charges from the media, from the public. This is our Canadian legal system?” Tang shakes his head again. “You see why I protest to the public and the media in my case.”
The verdict in the David Chen case is expected today.
